Collage is the style of art that I find as a perfect expression for the animations in this documentary project as creative art director and motion animator.
"The weight of success" is the life story of Angela Lauria - The Author Incubator. A couch that helps first-time authors to publish, their own life-changing, bestselling books. The documentary reveals Angela's personal struggle and strength, the self-hatred and self-love... Moments in the live shared by characters reflecting their own perceptions and understanding of the life and reality.
I kept very simple movements for the animation, where not everything is in motion, so in general all this world has his one rhythm, different from the edit of the video footage. Giving time for the public to reflect feelings, thought and observe.
Following the wish of the director I mix the look of the 50's, 80's. Adding dry flowers in to the family album.
